Reflection on Minehead Beach
Christmas Day 2014 Final image of the Christmas Day Collection The receding tide had left this large pool of water on the beach by some strange looking groynes poking out of the water, which arc out into the sea. These are located a short distance from the main harbour. The sun was behind and was perfect for the hard edge 0.9 graduated filter and to view the reflection of the clouds on the surface of the water. Available as canvas, prints and phone cases Please click on the image for further details Minehead by the Sea
Christmas Day 2014 Second image of the Christmas Day Collection Steps taking you on to the beach at Minehead, near the Butlins holiday camp. I personally undecided whether I like the building which reminds me of a bizarre ice cream cones or weird hedgehog. Maybe one day I might appreciate its modernistic style. However, I much prefer the serenity of the beach and Art Deco style of the holiday flats overlooking the beach out into the Bristol Channel. Upon the horizon, there are groyne markers and a couple with their dog having a Christmas Day stroll. The tide was still coming in and climbing the steps. This 1/2 second exposure has been deliberate in capturing the movement of the swell and the clouds looking like they have just been puffed out from a steam locomotive. Christmas Day 2014 The first picture of three of the Christmas Day Collection 2014. We went to my partners parents for Christmas this year. We stayed in a plush B&B next to the sea. This was an opportunity not to be missed. Getting up before sunrise taking a walk along the sea front. I found a part sheltered spot at the end of the Esplanade and was conscious of the incoming tide. It was blowy and the incoming tide was choppy. I hoped to get the blue light and the colours in the sky. The sun rose behind the dunes, giving shade over the tops of the dunes, with some light reflecting upon the rocks and pebbles on the beach. The long expsoure which is not all that long (8 seconds) has been enough to blur the water and some clouds. Available as canvas, prints and phone covers.
