Burbage Brook is a magnificent river that is full of interest to us photographers. The waters are babbling and churning over the grit stone and you are forever drawn into its allure. I got here just before dawn and forgot my torch to light the way. I made my way with care. I was trying to capture some early light for a this 29 second exposure with a circular polariser. After finding my spot, it was not too long before the sun headed up above the horizon; and then a few spots of rain developed. The beauty of long exposure it allows the passage of time in one frame, and this wonderful foam eddy was captured perfectly. The river looks mystical with the water blur, or smooth water and the woods themselves with its awkward trees, moss having highlighted the branches. The line of sight from the eddy, to the rock through the branches and tree trunks, and then you are drawn back to the russets of the fallen leaves in partial decay. A preternatural winter scene, no snow nor frost for a January Sunday. Available an canvas, photographic prints and iPhone covers.
