New Bridge at Calver

We were on our way back from Chelmorton near Tideswell and Cressbrook, and decided to stop off at this bridge, a very sharp bend in the road at the start of the bridge from Calver to Sheffield.
New Bridge was built in 1781 to connect Sheffield to Calver turnpike. The bridge spans the River Derwent. Just beyond the bridge is the Calver Weir built in 1840's to raise the water level for the wetland habitats further upstream. Froggatt Edge features upon the horizon.

Available as canvas, prints and phone cases.

Damflask Mono

A monochrome conversion of the reservoir and the jetty at Damflask residing just outside of Sheffield's city centre.  A simple and minimalistic landscape surrounding the cut of the valley with the jetty appearing in contemplation of the setting sun.
The sun had dipped below the horizon, and had not set at this point. The sky reflected in the water and were of a similar pale colour, with some gentle cloud definition.

Available as canvas, prints, and phone cases.

Damflask Reservoir Sunset

Damflask Reservoir Sunset

I decided to take a walk by Damflask Reservoir. I took myself out a little later in the afternoon. The light was not fantastic; still I hung around waiting in my overly warm clothing, suprised by the unseasonal warm weather until I reached the Viking Boating Club's wonky little jetty. It looked like a promising sunset. I thought I have a couple of long exposures. This 7 minute and 58 second exposure captured the slow moving clouds and the changing colours. The sky was on fire. A mist had descended upon Lower Bradfield in the distance. I felt enormously lucky as lady luck sometimes passes me by.

Available as canvas , prints and phone covers.
